Marcel R. Coutu, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Coutu joined Canadian Oil Sands Limited as President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2001. Marcel also is Chairman of the Board of Syncrude Canada Ltd. and chairs the Syncrude Joint Venture CEO and Management Committees.
Marcel has more than 25 years of experience in the resource and energy sector, primarily focused in corporate finance. Prior to joining Canadian Oil Sands, Mr. Coutu was Chief Financial Officer of Gulf Canada and preceding that, he was Senior Vice President International and Vice President Finance at TransCanada Pipelines. He also has worked in the upstream oil sector for Hudson’s Bay Oil & Gas and Dome Petroleum, and has five years of experience in the investment banking business, mostly with Burns Fry Limited. Marcel holds an H.B.Sc. in geology from the University of Waterloo (1976), an MBA from the University of Western Ontario (1980), and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists (APEGGA).
Ryan M. Kubik, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Kubik joined Canadian Oil Sands in September 2002 as Treasurer, and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in April 2007. He also represents Canadian Oil Sands as Chair of the Syncrude Audit and Business Controls Sub-Committee. Prior to Canadian Oil Sands, Ryan held progressively senior finance positions with EnCana Corporation, PanCanadian Energy and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Ryan holds Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary.
Trevor R. Roberts, Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Roberts joined Canadian Oil Sands in September 2005 as Chief Operations Officer. He also represents Canadian Oil Sands on the Syncrude Management Committee. Trevor has 30 years of experience in the energy sector. Prior to Canadian Oil Sands, he was Senior Vice President, Operations with Suncor Energy, responsible for all of its day-to-day operations of oil sands mining, extraction and upgrading as well as large capital expansion projects. Prior to that, Trevor held senior positions with Shell Canada Limited, including responsibilities for Shell’s Scotford Refinery. He holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Allen R. Hagerman, Executive Vice President
Mr. Hagerman, FCA, transitioned to a part-time role as Executive Vice President of Canadian Oil Sands from Chief Financial Officer on April 25, 2007. In his current role, Allen is responsible for special projects and specific Syncrude-related matters, such as oversight of the Syncrude business controls project. Allen joined Canadian Oil Sands in June 2003, and has more than 25 years of experience in the financial management of energy companies. Prior to Canadian Oil Sands, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Fording Canadian Coal Trust, playing a key role in that entity’s conversion into a trust. He also held senior positions at Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas, InterHome Energy Inc. (the parent to InterProvincial Pipe Line) and Home Oil. Mr. Hagerman is a chartered accountant and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Darren K. Hardy, Vice President Operations
Mr. Hardy joined Canadian Oil Sands in September 2008 and is responsible for helping to direct Syncrude’s operations and growth plans on behalf of Canadian Oil Sands Trust. He represents Canadian Oil Sands on the Syncrude Operations Committee and the Growth Development Planning and Major Projects Committee. Prior to Canadian Oil Sands, he was with Syncrude Canada Ltd. for nearly 20 years. His strong background in oil sands operations includes senior management experience in process operations, maintenance and capital projects. Mr. Hardy holds a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists (APEGGA
Trudy M. Curran, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Curran joined Canadian Oil Sands in September 2002. Trudy has practiced securities/corporate finance for twenty years and has been involved in numerous corporate reorganizations and acquisitions including Canadian Pacific Limited's spin-off in 2001 and the merger of PanCanadian Energy and AEC in 2002, which created EnCana Corporation. Prior to joining Canadian Oil Sands, she held senior positions with EnCana, Canadian Pacific Limited and Canadian Airlines. Trudy received her LLB (with distinction) in 1986 and B.A. (with distinction) in 1983 from the University of Saskatchewan and was a recipient of the Governor General's Bronze medal award.
Robert P. Dawson, Treasurer
Mr. Dawson joined Canadian Oil Sands in May 2007. Rob has more than 10 years of finance experience with senior positions at Suncor Energy Ltd., Global Crossing Ltd. based in Dublin, Ireland, and the reinsurance industry based in Bermuda. Rob is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
Laureen C. DuBois, Controller
Ms. DuBois joined Canadian Oil Sands in September 2002. Laureen has 10 years of accounting experience and prior to Canadian Oil Sands, she worked in various accounting positions with EnCana and Canadian Pacific Limited. Laureen holds a Chartered Accountant designation and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan.

Siren Fisekci, Director, Investor Relations
Ms. Fisekci joined Canadian Oil Sands in November 2002. Siren's 10 years of investor relations experience is concentrated in the energy sector. She previously held positions with EnCana Corporation, PanCanadian Energy and Rigel Energy. Siren holds a Bachelor of Communications Degree from the University of Calgary, a diploma in Public Relations from Mount Royal College and has taken several investment courses, including the Canadian Securities Course and the Richard Ivey Strategic Management of Investor Relations program.
Scott W. Arnold, Assistant Treasurer
Mr. Arnold joined Canadian Oil Sands in August 2005. Scott has 10 years of finance and accounting experience and prior to Canadian Oil Sands, he worked in the Financial Advisory group at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Scott holds a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator designation as well as Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Calgary.
